Motivated to leave internal combustion engines behind, automakers are gearing up to introduce a plethora of upcoming electric vehicles (EVs). Here’s a glimpse of some exciting Upcoming Electric Cars set to hit the market soon.

Upcoming MG 4 EV

The Upcoming Electric Car MG4 EV, showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo in India, is gearing up for its much-anticipated launch expected by April 2024. With an estimated starting price of Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). This electric marvel offers versatility with 51kWh and 64kWh battery options, providing a robust WLTP-claimed range of up to 450km.

Beyond its impressive range. The MG4 EV stands out for its charging capabilities accommodating various needs:

From a practical 2.2kW home charging option taking 20.5 hours (51kWh) and 26 hours (64kWh) to a mid-range 7kW option with times of 7.5 hours (51kWh) and 9 hours (64kWh). For those on the go the 50kW DC Fast Charger completes a charge in just 52 minutes (51kWh) and 60 minutes (64kWh). While the 150kW DC Fast Charger offers the fastest option taking only 39 minutes for both the 51kWh and 64kWh batteries.

Highlighting its advanced features the MG4 EV is equipped with a state-of-the-art 10.25-inch infotainment system. Seamless integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a seven-inch digital driver display, connected car technology, heated front seats, a wireless phone charger, and a V2L (vehicle to load) feature. This comprehensive set of features positions the MG4 EV as a compelling and technologically advanced option in the electric vehicle landscape.

Upcoming Electric car Volvo EX90

Volvo’s much-anticipated upcoming electric car, EX90, is set to debut in the Indian market at an expected price of Rs. 1.50 Cr. Booking opens in February 2020 with a launch date awaiting confirmation. The SUV will be available in Crystal Black Pearl Platinum Metallic, Solar Orange Metallic, Electric Blue Metallic, and Inscription White.

An exciting feature is the introduction of Volvo’s advanced LiDAR technology, including 8 cameras, 5 radars, and 16 ultrasonic sensors. This technology, capable of detecting pedestrians up to 250 meters away, will become a standard feature in Volvo’s new cars in India.

Expected to arrive in 2024, the EX90 showcases a powerful 2-liter turbo-petrol mild-hybrid engine (300PS/420Nm), coupled with a 48-volt electric motor and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Safety features include seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, collision avoidance, blind spot detection, and road protection.

With a starting price of Rs. 1.50 Cr., the EX90 offers two variants: B6 Inscription 7 Seater and Volvo EX90 T8 Twin Inscription 7 Seater. Despite a potential 16-week wait, the EX90’s positive reviews make it a highly anticipated addition to the luxury SUV market.

Upcoming BYD Seal

Scheduled for March 5, the BYD Seal is set to debut in the Indian market with an estimated starting price of Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). This electric marvel features an 82.5 kWh battery pack, offering both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) options. The RWD version delivers a punch with 313 PS/360 Nm, providing an impressive WLTP-claimed range of 570 km. Meanwhile, the AWD version takes it up a notch, with an electric setup producing 530 PS/670 Nm and a WLTP-claimed range of 520 km.

In the realm of features, the BYD Seal stands out with a rotating 15.6-inch infotainment display compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Coupled with a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, panoramic glass roof, and ventilated, heated front seats, the Seal promises a luxurious driving experience.

Safety takes center stage, with the BYD Seal incorporating multiple airbags and a robust suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring contribute to a secure and advanced driving experience for this upcoming electric car.

Upcoming Electric Car Tata Curvv EV

Scheduled for release in the second half of 2024, the Tata Curvv EV is a highly anticipated electric car poised to redefine the mobility landscape. With an expected starting price of Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), this electric vehicle emerges as a compelling option for environmentally conscious consumers seeking a blend of innovation and affordability. Configured as a 5-seater, the Curvv EV is built on Tata’s Gen2 platform, signaling a leap forward in technological advancements and design aesthetics.

While specific details regarding its battery and electric motor specifications are yet to be disclosed, the Curvv EV is projected to deliver an impressive range of up to 500 km, underscoring Tata’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of electric mobility. Competing directly with rivals such as the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric, the Curvv EV is poised to carve a niche for itself in the burgeoning electric car market.

Turning attention to its features, the Curvv EV is expected to offer a luxurious interior featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Upcoming Mercedes- Benz EQA

Priced at an estimated Rs. 60 Lakh, the Mercedes-Benz EQA shares a platform with the new GLA, offering optimizations for electric integration. It launched initially in the 250 variant, with plans for additional variants, including a dual-motor AMG performance option. It boasts a power output of up to 272hp, excluding the AMG derivative. Set to launch after 2024, the EQA is the second car under Mercedes-Benz’s dedicated electric sub-brand EQ. Three packages – Advanced, Advanced Plus, and Premium – will be available to enhance luxury and functionality. The entry-level Sport guise features cruise control, automatic air-conditioning, heating, electric front seat adjustment, ambient interior lighting 18-inch alloy wheels, and a 10-inch touchscreen with built-in SAT-NAV. Safety features include Lane Keep Assist and blind-spot monitoring. Equipped with a CCS connector for charging, supporting up to 100kW via DC fast charging. A rapid 10 to 80 percent charge takes just 30 minutes, while AC charging takes around 5 hours and 45 minutes for a full 10 to 100 percent charge.
